Survey drafting for survey firms · Australia

Drafting
on your
standard.

Send the field export. It comes back on your layers and your title block, usually inside 48 hours, ready for your surveyor to sign. 12d or CAD, whichever your office runs. Twenty years on the instrument sit behind every sheet, so we question what doesn't look right rather than draw it. We do not go to site and we do not speak to your clients.

Why firms use us

Your crews stay in the field.

When the office is behind, you should not have to hire to catch up, and you should not send out a sheet that looks like someone else's work. We take the export, draft it to your standard and send it back.

The office stops being the bottleneck

Field work keeps rolling while the drawings come back. A busy month or a drafter on leave is covered without a new wage.

The drawing goes out under your name

Same layers, same blocks, same title block. Your client never hears the word BREAKLINE.

Fixed price, usually 48 hours

One number before you commit. Inside 24 hours when you need it. Nothing is charged until you say go.

We do not hold clients and we do not go to site

We never ring your client, never turn up on your job and never quote it. A resource, not a competitor.

What we draft

Plans finished to your standard, not ours.

We work to your drafting standard from the first job. No house style imposed, no re-drafting at your end, nothing for your surveyor to undo before they sign it.

/ 01

Detail & Contour Plans

Full topographic detail from your field data — surface, contours, spot levels, feature strings and symbols, drawn and labelled to your layer standard.

Contours · RLs · Feature strings

/ 02

DTM & Surface Modelling

Triangulated surfaces built and cleaned from your pickup — breaklines honoured, voids and duplicates resolved, volumes and cut/fill against design or a prior survey. Back as a 12d model or LandXML.

TIN · Breaklines · Volumes

/ 03

As-built & WAE

Sewer, water, stormwater and electrical as-constructed records — pits, pipes, grades, invert and surface levels, presented to council or authority format.

Services · Grades · Inverts

Survey Set Out Modelling

Set-out files built from your design — PDF, DWG or DXF, for structures, earthworks, highways and civil infrastructure. We extract the critical set-out data, model it on clear layers, cross check it against the IFC model, and hand it back ready for Leica, Trimble, Topcon or 12d Field.

Set-out · IFC cross-check · Field formats

Subdivision & Lot Layout

Stage plans, lot layouts, kerb returns and road geometry from your design or your pickup — bearings and distances in cadastral format.

Lots · Kerb · Bearings

/ 06

Machine Control Models

Design surfaces built for the machine, not the plotter — TIN and stringline models, localisations and control files loaded straight into Leica, Trimble or Topcon guidance, or handed back as a 12d model.

Data Translation

12d, Captivate DBX, TBC, Magnet or CAD, translated into the package your office runs, on your layers — the part that usually eats a day before drafting even starts.

12d · DBX · LandXML · DWG

Quantity & BOQ Take-offs

Quantities measured off your PDF, DWG or DXF tender drawings for structures, earthworks and civil infrastructure — cut and fill, ground treatment and embankment volumes, drainage and kerb lengths, reported ready for the bill of quantities.

Earthworks · Cut/fill · Drainage & kerb

The sheets shown are sample drawings on fictional sites, not client work. Nothing a client sends us is ever shown to anyone else.

Process

How it works.

01

Send the job

The export straight out of 12d, Captivate, TBC or Magnet. Your code list and title block the first time. A field sketch if you have one.

02

Get a price

Fixed, and usually on the screen for ordinary pickup work. Design jobs get a price by email the same day. Nothing happens until you say go.

03

We draft it

Your layers, your blocks, your title block, kept on file from the first job. A surveyor checks the sheet before it leaves, not just a drafter.

04

You sign it

12d, DWG or DXF on your layers, plus PDF. Anything we were not sure of comes back as a question, not a guess.

Formats

Send it however it comes off the job.

Send it as it comes off the job and get it back in 12d, AutoCAD or BricsCAD. No need to pre-process anything to suit us. Raw is better — it keeps the codes, the strings and the levels intact.

12d Solutions

12d Model

Native 12d work, daily. Models and strings in, and back out as a 12d model if that is what your office keeps working in.

IN & OUT .12da · .12dxml · LandXML
Leica Geosystems

Captivate & DBX

Raw DBX job folder straight off the instrument, converted direct — no round trip and no levels lost on the way through.

IN DBX job folder · GSI · CSV
Trimble · Topcon

TBC, Magnet & Neutral

Business Centre and Magnet exports, or anything that lands as LandXML, DXF or a coded point file.

IN LandXML · DXF · CSV
12d · Autodesk · Bricsys

What comes back

The package your office runs. Models native in 12d; sheets checked in both AutoCAD and BricsCAD so the drawing opens clean on either.

Who we work with

Your name on the sheet. Not ours.

We don't do field work and we don't hold clients. The drawing goes out under your letterhead, your title block and your surveyor's signature. We're a resource, not a competitor.

Survey Practices

Drafting when the field is running ahead of the office, or a drafter is on leave. Your standard, no client contact.

Civil Contractors

As-built and WAE records turned around without carrying a drafter on the books between projects.

Engineering Consultants

Field data cleaned, coded and translated into a surface and a plan you can design straight off.

How you pay

You get a price for the job. Not an hourly argument.

Send the files. We send a number. The price we send is the price we honour. Most detail sheets come back between $200 and $400 excluding GST; WAE sets and machine models are more, because they are more work. There is no menu, because a 40-shot ident and a 1,400-shot pickup are not the same job. The price is for this file.

Send a job

One job at a time

Upload the files, get a fixed price, pay for that job. No account to open and no minimum run. Most firms start here.

Prepaid account

A run of work

A WAE season, a drafter on leave, a month of idents. Put a balance on account and every quoted job draws it down at a better rate. A small ident and a long pickup take what they take, so there is no argument about what counts as a job. Ring us and we will set it up against the kind of work you send.

48 hours from a complete export. Inside 24 hours is +40%. Minimum charge $70.
Sets are quoted as a total: the first sheet carries the set-up, every sheet after it is the cheap one.
Two rounds of changes included. If we got it wrong, we fix it, and that is free.
Setting your layers, blocks and title block up as a profile is free, once, on your first job. No code list written down? We build one from the job and hand it over.

The first job for a new firm is done at cost, so you can judge the sheet against your own standard before committing to anything. Send the export and you'll have a fixed price back the same day.
